Fire Preparedness
At the beginning and end of Daylight Saving Time, I often see reminders to check batteries in smoke detectors. I hope you did this in your homes, and today, take 300 seconds to do so in your bookstores.
While you’re at it, check your fire extinguishers to make sure they’ve been serviced.
And finally, check to see if your staff knows where to find your fire extinguishers and emergency flashlights. Oh… check the batteries in the flashlights, too. It’s important to have working flashlights on hand for when those smartphones aren’t readily available.
