If you haven’t changed the message on your register receipt since the last time I mentioned it, that was 6 weeks ago, so it’s time to change your message again.
You can go to your rotation of timeless messages–storytime hours or a book-of-the-month club–or you can promote something more timely, like an upcoming event or a sale. Or you might consider turning your receipt into a come-back coupon. “Bring this receipt back between March 24 – 31 and receive 25% off one book.” By printing a message like this on your receipt, it saves the cost of designing and printing/sending the coupon to your customers. And it reminds current customers that shopping with you has many rewards. Don’t forget to change the message before it expires.
