Musical Roald Dahl
This morning on NPR’s Morning Edition, Ari Shapiro explored a new piece of music debuted by the London Philharmonic based on Roald Dahl’s Dirty Beasts. I love this for its social media potential.
Dahl hated the musical adaptation of Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. But he didn’t hate music. In fact, he used it as inspiration. One of the best features of Shapiro’s piece is a 1979 BBC interview with Dahl.
So many items are tweet-worthy. You can post the recommended, “Classical Music Piece Enhances Roald Dahl’s ‘Dirty Beasts’.” Or pull a quote from that BBC interview, “It is impossible, after listening to great music, to write absolute rubbish.” – Roald Dahl.
