This week, our “300 Seconds” segments are going to focus on the website. The website is our one “location” that is always open, so we need to maintain it as often as we do our physical building.
Today, click on all of your navigation buttons: pages that contain “store hours” or “about us” or “staff picks” or that lead to the store blog. Do all of these pages have a way to navigate back to the home page?
The home page often provides the map overview of the site, and I’m continually amazed how many sites I visit do not have an easy way to navigate back to a home base. (Not bookstore sites, of course. Other websites.)
I’m sure all of your pages have home buttons, but it’s worth these 5 minutes to be sure.
