Hannah Nordhaus on “American Ghost”

In this video, Hannah Nordhaus (The Beekeeper’s Lament) explains that American Ghost: A Family’s Haunted Past in the Desert Southwest is about her great-great-grandmother, who came to America as a German bride. It is her ghost that is said to haunt La Posada in Santa Fe, NM.

Nordhaus says that this book is the story of how “a German bride became an American woman, and then became an American legend.”
