Kevin Young

Kevin Young is the author of eight books of poetry–including Book of Hours which was released today–and the editor of eight other collections. Book of Hours explores the cycle of life, specifically for Young through the death of his father and the birth of his son.

Young will be on NPR’s Fresh Air today. Earlier this year, Tracy K. Smith read “Crowning” from Book of Hours on The New Yorker’s Poetry Podcast.

He is active on Facebook and Twitter and his website is full of background information, interviews, and audio archives.

Young is the Atticus Haygood Professor of Creative Writing and English and curator of Literary Collections and the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library at Emory University in Atlanta.
