If you have just five minutes to devote to marketing today, spend those 300 seconds looking at the front page of your website. In fact, you should devote a few minutes every day to check the home page of your website.
Keep an eye our for anything that has expired, remove any ads that are old, and make sure that the latest information that you want your customers to see is on the home page.
Customers will continue to check back if they think that you regularly add new information, because they will not want to miss out on your latest offerings. And you can break down this task into small portions by updating a little bit each day–bestsellers on Monday, new releases on Tuesday, book club news on Wednesday, etc.–then it will be less daunting, yet your home page will always looks fresh and new.
If you have an opportunity to announce a daily winner, or announce a running tally for a contest, it’s a good idea to place that information on your home page. Then as you continue to change the other content of that home page, customers might discover new information every time they check back.
