A Conversation with Cecilia Ruiz: The Book of Memory Gaps

Today is the release date for The Book of Memory Gaps by Cecilia Ruiz. I had an opportunity to speak with Ruiz yesterday–about the book’s beginnings, her creative process, and what booksellers should know about the book. Ruiz said of her book that “all of the short stories are taken from either memory disorders or just memory phenomenon, and that’s stuff that we’re all kind of experiencing.” I’ve included the conversation here.

She has created special “In case you forget, this book belongs to: …” bookplates (shown right), which are available to booksellers. Request bookplates for your store by contacting Ruiz’s publicist, Eliza Rosenberry, who can be reached at erosenberry@penguinrandomhouse.com.

And finally, here’s a sweet/sad/humorous book trailer to view or share if you’d like a closer look at a few of these 14 mini-stories.
