Advent Calendar Display: Murder by the Book
After I shared the image of the “wall of shop favs” from bbgb books, I received this note from John Kwaitkowski, from Murder by the Book in Houston, Tex.:
“We’ve got a similar display at Murder by the Book. ” he wrote. “We turn our staff picks display into a giant Advent Calendar.”
John explained that each staff member chooses 4 or 5 titles and writes a brief review. He says they strive to select a variety of books to fit any need. They also choose 8 children’s titles to represent Hanukkah. The selections are then discounted 20% for the month of December.
“We have a lot of fun with it every year,” Kwaitkowski added, “and it gives us a chance to highlight titles we love, but don’t always think of when we’re handselling things.”
