Anderson’s Open House

Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, IL, will be hosting a Book Club Open House next week. They announced the event thorough an email blast, but it was merely a formality. Attendees have become accustomed to this semi-annual event over the last 10 years and anticipate its arrival. “I start receiving calls in March asking if we’re going to host the open house,” said Carol Katsoulis, book group coordinator at Anderson’s. “We offer two sessions, one at 10 a.m. and one at 7 p.m. Both fill up.”

Anderson’s offers the sessions for free but ask that participants register to reserve their spots. The two sessions are identical and present ideas about how to run a book club and recommend books that provide good discussion. There’s also an open forum where participants can offer suggestions or ask questions.

Anderson’s offers two in-house book clubs–fiction and non-fiction–and supports more than 20 books clubs registered with the store. Registered books clubs receive a 10% discount on monthly selections.
