Another Marathon Reading: “To Kill a Mockingbird”

There’s another marathon reading session of To Kill a Mockingbird. This one will take place on Saturday at Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi, where they are tackling the classic 10 minutes at a time.

Customers are encouraged to sign up ahead of time to read for one of the 10 minute shifts which will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day. They plan to provide punch and appetizers in the afternoon when they approach the end of the story, followed by a champagne toast at the conclusion of the reading marathon.

The store will continue the anticipation into Monday evening with a screening of the film, To Kill a Mockingbird, at the Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library.

Square Books will wrap up the celebration with complimentary coffee & donuts when they begin selling Go Set a Watchman on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.

And then another reading marathon will begin.
