August Content Calendar
Each month I offer a content calendar with odd holidays and celebrations. These are meant to be sparks to help when it comes to planning events, displays, sales, and social media content.
For example, August 3 is National Watermelon Day. This day could be celebrated with a reading of The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli, a watermelon feed and a seed spitting contest. (Or do we only do that in Kansas?)
Bad Poetry Day on August 18 could make for a fun open-mic event and poetry book sale.
On Senior Citizen’s Day (August 21), celebrate early in the day Senior’s Sale and a special talk showcasing the services you offer, like audio rental, large print books, Grandparent shopping services, etc.
And August 9 is Book Lover’s Day. That one has me stumped.
