Mid-Year Check-up: Customer Reading Goals
Mid-year is also a good time to check in with customers to remind them to evaluate their own reading goals.
Remember my very first issue on January 1? It contained reading resolution ideas to share with customers. Why not help them meet their resolutions goal? There are still 184 days left before the end of the year. That’s a lot of time to complete a goal.
Maybe their goal was to read a specific number of books each month, and they think they’ve already failed. There’s nothing special about January 1 other than the promise of a new beginning. But for these customers, establish July 1 as Start Over Day: a day to begin anew. (If other people can make up “days,” why can’t you?)
If you have an abundance of journals, consider a promotion or sale to encourage keeping that reading list. Ask customers make a list of what they’ve read so far this year. They might be surprised at how many they’ve read. And you can help fill in any reading gaps.
