Friday Whatnot: Ipsums and Trailers

Since some of you are graphic designers, I thought you might enjoy Meet the Ipsums.

You know how comp designs are often filled with text from Cicero’s The Extremes of Good and Evil? You’ll recognize it as the Latin filler which begins with this text:

“Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur.”

If you’ve grown tired of Cicero, there are other resources available which will provide you with filler text with different themes.

Like Social Good Ipsum from Hyperakt Labs. Insert the number of words or paragraphs you need to fill in a comp design, and it will generate “smart dummy copy from people who give a damn.”

Global South advocate capacity building visionary international Jane Addams insurmountable challenges results. Social responsibility, Bill and Melinda Gates, pathway to a better life opportunity world problem solving approach micro-finance fluctuation treatment affordable health care significant agriculture. Inclusive capitalism, engage environmental legal aid local solutions action making progress natural resources John Lennon safeguards design thinking research. Rosa Parks compassion, 501(c)(3) gun control life-expectancy.

Or Corporate Ipsum:

Collaboratively administrate empowered markets via plug-and-play networks. Dynamically procrastinate B2C users after installed base benefits. Dramatically visualize customer directed convergence without revolutionary ROI. Efficiently unleash cross-media information without cross-media value. Quickly maximize timely deliverables for real-time schemas. Dramatically maintain clicks-and-mortar solutions without functional solutions.

Or Coffee Ipsum:

Flavour cappuccino turkish, black french press wings pumpkin spice seasonal aromatic. Cappuccino sugar, aged irish eu coffee whipped lungo. Foam fair trade, as, organic iced extraction extra roast. That, bar est, ut, cinnamon aftertaste aromatic steamed to go acerbic. Aged, chicory ristretto fair trade percolator, ut id, saucer in black crema barista. These and many (many) more can be found at the Meet the Ipsums website.
