It’s Difficult to Resist Cooking for Grandmothers

Gabriele Galimberti is a documentary photographer who travels the world for his profession. When he left Tuscany to embark on his photographic “couch surfing” project, his 80-year-old grandmother asked, “Who is going to feed you? What will you do without my homemade ravioli?”

His solution was to ask a grandmother in every place he visited to make her favorite dish. The results have been compiled into cookbook scheduled to be released on November 11.  In Her Kitchen: Stories and Recipes from Grandmas Around the World features beautiful photography as well as a taste of what it means to be a family.

After he returned to Tuscany, Galimberti decided to show his grandmother what he learned about cooking during his travels, and in this video he cooks ravioli for her. It’s charming.
