More Value for All
In the six months that I’ve been sending Books & Whatnot, my message hasn’t wavered. I want to help independent booksellers succeed. And even though it’s the only way I earn a living, I haven’t focused much on newsletter ad sales. Something bothered me about the model. I tried to answer the “What’s in it for me?” question from the bookseller perspective. And then I’d ask the same from the advertiser perspective.
I wanted the ads to have more value for both publishers and booksellers.
So I’ve been working with both booksellers and publishers to come up with a better landing page. This page will contain usable promotional materials and anecdotal information–an author photo, cover image, book trailer (if there is one) and the code to share, news release, q & a, information for book clubs, ads for to link to your own “buy from us” landing page, author social media info, publicity contact information, etc.–items that will help you sell books, all on one page.
You can see the first of these landing pages by clicking on the Traitor’s Blade ad in today’s newsletter, or by clicking here. I’d love to hear any feedback about what you find on the page, what’s missing that you’d like to see, etc.
