“Mystery” Display Contest at The Homer Bookstore

The folks at The Homer Bookstore in Homer, AK, had a clever display last month that practically begs for customer interaction. The bookstore displayed 29 books wrapped in brown paper with a small circle cut out of the paper, allowing a portion of the cover to show. Customers were encouraged to enter a contest to identify the titles of the books based on what they could see through the 1-2″ hole.

“We had one gift certificate for the person who guessed the most correctly and then we offered another gift certificate that was given away through a random drawing which included everyone who entered,” said Sue Post, co-owner of bookstore. “We had the display up for a week or so and received great compliments from customers.”
