Open Table Sunday at Apostrophe Books

Apostrophe-authorsigningJamesDaos-emailWhen the weather is nice in Long Beach, CA, the folks at Apostrophe Books take advantage of it.
Beginning in the spring and continuing through summer, the bookstore hosts Local Author Open Table Sunday. These book signings take place in front of the store to take advantage of walk-by traffic.
“We have three 2-hour slots each Sunday: 11:30-1:30, 2:00-4:00 and 4:30-6:30,” says Valerie Kingsland, who owns the store with Lisa Somerville. “It seems to work out pretty well and gives local authors a venue.”
Not only does the bookstore provide a venue for local authors, they also give each author a packet containing tips on how to go about hosting their book signings, because the event at Apostrophe Books is often their first.
