Quick and Dirty Results: Ambient Noise
A recent Quick & Dirty Survey asked: Do you play ambient noise over the bookstore sound system?
83% of respondents answered YES
17% of respondents answered NO
Those who answered YES said they listen to classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, new age, pop, oldies, NPR, and Broadway tunes.
Some cater the music selection to the customers currently in the store: Disney selections before and after Storytime, holiday music during the holidays, and no sound during author presentations.
Several music services were mentioned, including Pandora, PlayNetwork, iTunes Radio, and XM Radio.
One store mentioned that one day a week they feature live music.
