Riverhead’s New Colophon

Riverheadoldnew-thumb-633x314-420387Just as readers judge books by their covers, booksellers identify publishers by the spines.

Booksellers will have to change the way they spot Riverhead titles. After 21 years, the publisher just released a new colophon yesterday. It was profiled in this post on the Paste Magazine website.

It was designed by Riverhead art director Helen Yentus.

The article stated that the new colophon “embodies the ‘unexpected, bold and unforgettable’ qualities found in the books published by Riverhead during the past two decades.”
