September Content Calendar
Here’s the September Content Calendar, which can be used to plan social media and blog posts. This calendar lists national and unique holidays, many of which lend themselves to bookstore events.
A special story time could be held on September 9, where Teddy bears are invited to attend. Make a Hat Day (September 15), Collect Rocks Day (September 16), International Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19) and Checkers Day (September 23) all have an adolescent vibe to them. Chocolate Milkshake Day (September 12) might work best if you have a cafe associated with your bookstore.
Add bookstore and local events to the calendar, and you have a content roadmap.
Another content marketing idea is to create a content calendar for teachers. In addition to the days listed here, you could add:
- September 2 – The end of World War II
- September 14 – The penning of the Star-Spangled Banner
- September 17 – The signing of the U.S. Constitution
- September 22 – The Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Or it might be helpful to know that September 15 is William Taft’s birthday and Samuel Adams was born on September 27.
And if you happen to have books that help with this lesson planning, that’s a bonus.
