Steal Anything We Post

Earlier this month, Christie Olson Day of Gallery Bookshop in Mendocino, CA, sent me a message:

I was wondering … is it OK if I swipe your Quick n Dirty survey for my store newsletter? I love responding and realized my customers probably will, too. I could call it something else …

I told her to swipe away. And you can, too. Anything we publish that will help you sell books, steal it. You never need to give us credit.

I checked in with Christie to see how the survey worked for her. She told me, “Not only does it work, but it’s fun. I was hoping that my customers would have the same reaction I do. I’m using it again in my next newsletter.”

Christie kept the same “Quick & Dirty” name, but you can call it anything you want that relays the fact that it’s personal (not a form tabulating results), it doesn’t take a lot of time, and responding is as easy as hitting reply.
