The Sound of Bluebird

I talk about using ambient sounds as a productivity tool a lot. I love the sound of rain I can find at calm.com, the morning murmur at coffitivity.com, and even the sounds of the Gryffindor Common Room.

The last time I mentioned these tools, Melanie Green of Bluebird Books in Hutchinson, Kansas, decided to create her own ambient sound video.

She recorded the sounds of her bookstore/cafe on a Saturday morning using the voice memo feature on her iPhone. She then uploaded the voice memo to Dropbox as an .m4a file, and then shared it on YouTube with an image featuring a bag of Bluebird Blend coffee and a Bluebird Bookstore coffee mug.

The text on YouTube reads: “When you can’t get here in person, enjoy our ambiance from your desktop. Coffee smells not included.”

To hear the Bluebird Ambience again and again, hover your cursor over the video, right click, and select “loop” from the menu.

A different ‘bluebird’ sound, sure, but one just as pleasing.
