Valentine Fun at The Morris Book Shop
They’re having some social media fun at The Morris Book Shop in Lexington, KY. For Valentine’s Day, they’ve recreated the best bookstore meet-cutes and bookstore pick-up lines tweets.
In the store newsletter, they wrote: “Urban Dictionary defines the term, meet-cute as: ‘Scenario in which two individuals are brought together in some unlikely, zany, destined-to-fall-in-love-and-be-together-forever sort of way (the more unusual, the better). The way the characters meet in Serendipity or When Harry Met Sally or at least half the romantic comedies out there.’
This Valentine’s Day, The Morris Book Shop brings you a pictoral display of Book Store Meet-Cutes. As we all know, the best love stories start in bookstores.”
So the staff recreated their favorite meet-cutes from Dan in Real Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Big Sleep, and When Harry Met Sally.
They’ve shared the reenactment images through their Facebook page and store newsletter.
But they haven’t stopped there. Through Twitter, they’ve started tweeting bookstore pick-up lines.
Did I just step into an E.M. Forster novel? Because any room with you in it is ‘A Room With A View.” #Bookstorepickuplines.

So smart. Of course I had to start following them. (And maybe I’m a sucker for books, but these would have worked on me.)
