My youngest daughter begins her senior year of high school in less than a month. We talked a lot over the past week about the upcoming year, but it wasn’t about her class schedule, senior pictures, or even homecoming. School hasn’t even begun and she’s already moved on. She’s more concerned about scheduling college visits.
After watching this video about The Best 380 Colleges, 2016 Edition by Princeton Review, I realize that I am part of the target audience for this book.
While the video can be easily shared through social media and in store and educator newsletters, here are a couple of handselling ideas:
Create a bookmark to slip into every school text that walks out the door, not only in that book for AP French your daughter was supposed to be reading all summer, but for incoming sophomore and junior required reading texts, too. They’re probably thinking about schools already.
The other thing is to just be aware of the book and what it has to offer. Many customers might not know it exists, but a simple “Have you looked at any colleges?” question at checkout could be the perfect handselling segue.
