Video: The Making of Maya

Here’s a peek behind the scenes of the inspiration, art, and collaboration behind the picture book Maya with author Mahak Jain and illustrator Elly MacKay, filmed in Elly’s studio in Owen Sound, Ontario.

Inspired by Mahak’s childhood in India, it’s about using story to process big emotions like grief and fear, with art done in Elly’s signature paper theater style.

Mahak Jain is on Twitter @kveenly and has a website at mahakjain.com. Elly MacKay is on Twitter @theatreclouds and has a website at ellymackay.com.
