March 18 is…

Oatmeal Cookie Day. If you’re near Edgewater Books in Edgewater, MD, you can stop by for a non-store bought oatmeal cookie. (But you’ll have to bring your own milk.)

It’s the day you can announce to your customers that Spanish investigators believe they’ve found the remains of Miguel de Cervantes, author of the first modern novel, Don Quixote. Here’s a story from NPR’s The Two-Way you can share.

It’s Awkward Moments Day. I’m glad to know there a specific day for this so I can stop my continued observance throughout the year.

And it’s the day I’m celebrating 10 years as a cancer survivor. To celebrate, I’m taking the day off. This issue is Books & Whatnot Light.
