Understanding Facebook… sort of.

You’ve heard me mention Buffer before when talking about scheduling social media posts. They also have a pretty great blog, and one of their most recent posts captured my attention.

Here’s a link to Courtney Seiter’s article, The Secret Psychology of Facebook: Why We Like, Share, Comment, and Keep Coming Back.  She explores nifty things like nucleus accumbens, pupil dilation while browsing, and flow state.

So while we may never fully understand Facebook’s algorithm of reach and exposure, this might give us a better understanding of human behavior on social media, and why we post in the first place.
